Your home is the ideal breeding ground for most roaches. Food, warmth, and plenty of nesting sites, if you’ve seen one, you probably haven’t seen them all. Cockroaches reproduce very quickly. For every one you see there are many more hiding and multiplying behind your walls. The dust created by cockroach skins, droppings and dead roaches can aggravate allergies, especially in sensitive individuals.
The American is the largest of the common cockroaches. Measuring on average 4 cm in length. The American cockroach comes into the house from the outside. The American cockroach is second only to the German cockroach in abundance
Adult German cockroaches are light brown except for the shield behind the head marked with two dark stripes, which run lengthwise on the body. Adults are about 5/8 inch long. Egg capsules are light tan and usually yield about 36 baby cockroaches!
First found in Florida in 1986, the Asian is nearly identical to the German cockroach except for a few minor differences. The Asian roach is an accomplished flyer and lives outdoors, wandering into homes by accident where they become a pest.
